The just need to refine their movers and it could be a really good company. Overall, their customer service team has been AMAZING. I received $600 back for all my damage! I literally figured it would be getting less than $100 back. I called customer service and submitted a claim. I’ve used two men and a truck in the past and they are much better. Long story short: NEVER USE BELLHOPS TO MOVE. The move took way longer than it should have, my items were damaged and I’m out the $1000 to replace the 3 year old mattress that they ruined. I have a pillow top so this completely destroyed the mattress. It was left on its side but not completely straight up. Once I got everything into the new place, I realized multiple pieces of wood furniture had marks on it from being hit against walls. They had them in the truck but all were flat so they were unable to use them. On top of this, they were supposed to have dollies. Once in the truck they just laid a blanket over each piece but no tape was used. I thought this was odd because the whole point was so that they didn’t get damaged while moving. I asked again and was told “things would be wrapped in the truck”. They started moving stuff without wrapping. This was the main reason I booked with them.Ĭome moving day, I remind the movers that I wanted each item to be wrapped. They told me they cover each piece in a moving blanket and then tape it shut. Before the move I called and asked them how they cover items. They do everything they can to accommodate and accomplish a very difficult job in often wild conditions. This past weekend I moved with Bellhops. The customers can be ruthless, as evidenced by some of the reviews online. Good luck not marking, damaging or bumping anything along the way. The homes are often newly painted, polished and pristine. If you sign up for this, expect long, hard moves that require moving massive, heavy furniture up flights of stairs, around bends and into small rooms with small doorways. The photos that show young men and women with smiles holding 10 lb boxes is false advertising in a big way. If you're a big, strong guy and love to work 9 hour, grueling days, this is for you. And expect to unassemble and reassemble multiple pieces during the move. The downside is that this is a FULL-SERVICE moving company. The management is responsive and professional and, for now, a phone call away. I even had to take over the lead position multiple times because the lead didn’t show up or just to be a team member and do what was best to make sure the customer was satisfiedīellhop is a great concept with some very good technology, although there are still hiccups along the way. I was also one of few people who would be willing to pick up a job if I was needed. I feel that it messed up that I’m as easily terminated when I was one of few workers who always had 5 star ratings, good reviews, and always requested for future jobs. They was able to get somebody to take my spot but fired me because I didn’t show up. I did so with 20-30 mis time to spare before the job started. He told me to connect HQ to get somebody else on the move. Within 10 mins of me texting him it started to snow bad and my whippers were bad so I knew I would’ve be able to make it to the job. I was told I would be in and out so I told him I’d be no later than 10-15 mins on the job which he was coo with. They terminated my account because they said I did a no call no show when in fact I called and texted the lead and told him I might be a bit late due to me being at the dmv trying to reinstate my licenses. Had a 5 star rating every job besides one. I just had a bad experience towards the end
